"The Transparencies" rock the Slovak.

The goals developed by the Board and fulltime staff were presented:
Leadership: (flying)
Camp
To provide a holistic Christian camping experience that is unique, exciting and challenging.
Conference Centre
To become the major Christian Leadership training facility in North Western Ontario.
Stewardship: (our feet on the ground)
Camp
To develop and maintain facilities that are safe, secure, functional and inviting.
To operate with a full complement of full time and volunteer staff who are committed and consistently being equipped.
Conference Centre
To maximize the use in accordance with our vision statement.

The Vision of Dorion Bible Camp is campers and staff of all ages saved and walking with Christ.
The Vision of Dorion Conference Centre is mature Christians and Churches in Northwestern Ontario.

One of the best memories I have of the last 10 years is the day that we three men
worked together to move the office counter.

Until then anyone on my side of the office had to run the Giant S Curve in order to answer
the phone. I asked if we could move the counter to the opposite wall, leaving a space beside
my desk through which I could access the other side of the office.

In the process of doing this task, one of the others suggested that we not move it completely
against the other wall, but leave a space there as well. We all agreed that this was an even
better suggestion than my original.

In my mind I see this as an example of how, with a bit of well-led communication, it was
possible for us to work collegially. Obviously, as this eventually broke down, there are some
differences in opinion as to how to apportion responsibility for the final result, but I did
agree to every board-mandated version of discussion.

I still love Dorion Bible Camp and still consider it "my camp" (their new slogan) but other options to consider are Camp Gitchigomee and Manitoba Pioneer Camp (my other camps).
